Chronic Pain Class

Cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic pain is one of the most researched treatments to improve quality of life for Veterans dealing with daily chronic pain. The goals of this program include: Exploring thoughts and beliefs that may negatively impact your pain, as well as behaviors that can help; exploring the role and importance of exercise and healthy eating in managing chronic pain; Practicing relaxation techniques and other coping strategies to help reduce tension. The National Veterans Golden Age Games is the premier senior adaptive rehabilitation program in the United States, and the only national multi-event sports and recreational seniors’ competition program designed to improve the quality of life for all older Veterans, including those with a wide range of abilities and disabilities. The VA Challenges and encourages senior Veterans to be proactive in embracing a healthier lifestyle.
